BBC Store – VoD Platform
I led UX design at BBC Store, a transactional video-on-demand platform across responsive web and native apps (iOS, Android). I enjoyed working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
What I Did
Created wireframes and interactive prototypes; specified features and scenarios
Produced high-fidelity visual designs and assets while ensuring adherence to brand and accessibility guidelines; worked with engineers to deliver and test new features
Documented new design features, updated the design system and pattern library, maintained the UX backlog and captured UX debt
Presented to leadership, facilitated brainstorming sessions and workshops, held review sessions with stakeholders, product team and engineers
Usability testing from recruiting and screening customers, conducting interviews and running sessions, to reporting key findings

Google Chromecast
When I first joined, BBC Store had recently launched and wanted to improve customer experience by allowing playback via Chromecast. I worked out the main user flows to ensure all the scenarios were covered and specified. Then I designed the sender screens (iOS and Android apps), as well as the receiving TV screens.
Optimizing Purchase Flow
I analyzed the existing purchase flow and came up with suggestions based on analytics, user research, and industry best practices. Improvements included re-designing the product pages and optimizing the order summary page. New designs and features underwent multiple rounds of usability testing.
Content Discovery
To improve content discovery and increase purchase frequency, I facilitated workshops with stakeholders and the product team in order to narrow down and agree on the specific goals. Working collaboratively within tight constraints, I redesigned the search functionality to include groupings and contextual suggestions in the results, and to ensure accessibility standards were met as well as a consistent experience across the site. New related content modules were introduced on multiple template pages.
UX Research
I conducted customer interviews and led usability testing – both guerilla and in lab. Along with the collated user feedback and analytics data, we were able to extract pain points across the customer experience and better understand their behaviour and motivation. I initiated the creation of a customer panel with the aim of being able to acquire user feedback more easily in the future.
